A unique Nepal trip at prime cost – how is this possible?

In the south of central Nepal is the Mahabharat Mountains, where the Chepangs live, the place of the tourism project.

Poor school education, agriculture in topography such as the Swiss mountain region, malnutrition and a developing country are forcing young people to emigrate abroad.

The project “Tourism as a way out of poverty” creates employment and perspectives for the retarded families by using homestay: Tourism directly at the Chepangs’ home.

Looking for you as an adventurous hiker as well as professional knowledge from different disciplines. The project is set up exclusively together with the local population.

THE JOURNEY

Every day you experience a wealth of “joie de vivre”. The innovative idea combines various themes and is independent of financial donations, political or religious orientation.

The project is set up exclusively together with the local population.

Project idea and project management

The Chepangs, different people, experts and teams from different countries, with different backgrounds, professions, attitudes and interests developed and worked out the project idea together.

Tourists visit accompanied the homestays.

The project also enables people with a modest budget to travel to Nepal: students, artisans or pensioners and so on.

Why this inexpensive trip is not a “cheap trip”

The whole travel will be paid with direct payments on the place. Expensive margins between tour operators and hotels, restaurants and guides are eliminated. There are also no overnight stays in expensive luxury tents.

What can I expect?

  • A two-week trip in Kathmandu and southern Nepal. The route, the extent of the hike as well as the simple accommodation will be announced to the participants in all details on the occasion of the preparation weekend
  • It is possible to add an additional week of trekking in Annapurna
  • Participants experience the real Nepal directly on the place
  • small groups with max. four participants
  • As a participant, I have the level T3 to partly T4 on the hiking scale of the Swiss Alpine Club
  • Robust health as well as a sense of community and openness and flexibility are important conditions.

  • A travel companion with local knowledge who is optimally networked and works as a public health nurse (relieving in case of health problems), also on site.
  • an obligatory, joint preparation weekend: Thorough, very practical, individual and personal advice is given for all travel preparations, where necessary there is support e.g. for bookings.
  • Next project trips: on request
  • in the focus: a meaningful, extraordinary and extremely fascinating travel to Nepal.

SENSE AND LONG-TERM ORIENTATION OF THE PROJECT “TOURISM AS A WAY OUT OF POVERTY”

Further ideas for income generation are to be implemented during the project and in partnership with the local population.

An unforgettable stay in Nepal for people who want to associate something valuable with an adventurous, fascinating journey.

The hosts and the guests give each other new resources for their future lives.
